Welcome to Loved and Enough

The Loved and Enough (L&E), community is dedicated to making a difference through fabulous vegan food, for those who want to enjoy more plant based food for health, environment, ethics or fun!

Building on my personal experience, I have founded Loved and Enough to offer a positive and supportive community to people who want to enjoy more vegan food in their diet, whether or not they want to ‘be vegan’.

I have been part of many online and physical vegan groups which have a fantastic majority of people but I didn’t like the negativity towards those who just want MORE vegan food, rather than necessarily to BECOME a full time vegan – which I appreciate can feel daunting or unnecessary to many people.  My personal belief is that whilst there is nothing I would love more than for the whole world to be vegan, that is unrealistic in the short term.

I think that bashing people who are not ‘vegan enough’ is unhelpful, but rather that every meal matters – every time someone makes a vegan choice, it is something to celebrate and encourage. So I founded L&E to help encourage more vegan food – for example if people are inspired to replace one meal a day to vegan, that could be as impactive as one in every three people becoming full time vegan!!!!

I find it interesting how many different views are out there about vegans and from vegans! So many personal interpretations of the original definition captured by Donald Watson the founder of the Vegan Society (5 November 1944) as “a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.”  Its worth noting that “as far as possible and practicable” is deliberately subjective and therefore people interpret it differently.

My own journey has been over the last thirty years, with two decades of first being vegetarian and the last 10 years as vegan, with most of them as a raw foodist.  You can read more in my first blog of specifically WHY I became vegan.

Over future blogs, I will share with you some of the challenges and positives I have experienced over my long journey.  I hope you will find this interesting and inspiring, and that you will positively contribute with your own experiences to support our community.

To me, great vegan food is quite simply ‘Great Food’ and through the recipes and information I will share here, I hope it inspires you to eat more vegan food.
